First let me thank you for stopping by our site. gduws.org was born to the Internet quietly and without fanfare on 2/13/03. This fledgling web site and its equally inexperienced webmaster spent the first week troubleshooting and improving the existing pages so as to present a site with minimal glitches and with interest to a wide variety of comers before inviting others to visit here.
We hope to attract our own members, of course, with information about our affiliate events as well as information of interest about the individuals who make up our group. We hope to be a place for others to come and learn about guide dogs, not only by the information we create on this site, but also by finding easily the information that other similar groups have created before us.
My dream is to make this a place frequented by a variety of comers. I expect the content to grow and change often, spirited, not only, by my own creativity, but more importantly, by the feedback I receive from all of you. I hope to have a link to easily point frequent comers to changes and updates since the creation of this site. Any suggestions are welcome. Just contact me by choosing the link above.
In closing, let me thank my fellow members and officers of Guide Dog Users of Washington State for believing in me enough to give me the opportunity to create this web presence. At the time of my offer to do it, I had had no previous experience with HTML, and am now on a steep learning curve. I must also thank my good friend and computer mentor, Emil for helping me get started. Come back often and watch me learn to create a better and better site with lots of ideas that I am not yet knowledgeable enough to execute. I am planning to learn a lot here, I hope you will as well.
